Once again Hagar made a visit to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, Russia. She was studying molecular dynamics with Prof. Kholmirzo Kholmurodov. She presented the results of the study in the MSSMBS conference under the title "Molecular dynamic study of ethanol solvated by water on the Pt (111) surface"

The group member, Hagar Khalil, has been to Russia last Fall to activate the project no. 302 between Cairo university and Joint Institute of Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, Moscow region, Russia. Hagar has worked with researchers from Russia, Uzbekistan and Japan. This collaboration resulted in a research paper in the journal Chemical Physics (see publications)

Congratulations to the AML members for their new publication in the International Journal of Electrochemical Science on graphene nanocomposites for fuel cell applications. This is a collaborative research that brought together researchers from Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Good Job!

“Congratulations to Maher for his recent publication in "Science Mag" on the supercapacitive nature of graphene. Maher and his team at UCLA were successful in administering graphene on CD using the same approach used to store electronic information using a Laser beam. The work is led by Ric Kaner, professor of Chemistry and professor of materials science and engineering at UCLA. The work attracted the attention through several citations worldwide.”

Congratulations Nada!
The paper is about Corrosion inhibition, hydrogen evolution and antibacterial properties of newly synthesized organic inhibitors on 316L stainless steel alloy in acid medium. The study has found that a newly synthesized triazoloisoquinoline with methoxy as the active group greatly inhibited the corrosion of steel even in 0.5 M sulfuric acid (IE=98.3%).

Congratulations Rasha!
The paper is about a promising electrochemical sensor based on the conducting polymer PEDOT. Rasha has found that the surfactant (sodium dodecyl sulfate) helps increase the sensitivity and selectivity of PEDOT to some biocompounds and, thus, makes better sensors.
